What is the most important factor in selecting a NAB (Non-Alcoholic Beverage)?
Indians have a taste palette that is completely different from that of the world. We are very particular about flavours and how our drinks or food should taste. Beverages should be on the sweeter side and food should be spicy. No wonder international brands that come to India have to make changes to their food preparation processes which they usually don’t do in other parts of the world. Quick examples are McDonals, Pizza Hut, or KFC. Each one had to customise their menu as per the Indian palette.
If food requires so much customisation then why should beverages not be customised to cater to the Indian taste. Bira for example could penetrate the market fighting thru big giants like Kingfisher, Budwieser or Heineken only because they customised their beer by making it sweeter to adapt to the Indian palette.
We at Crofters have invested more than 2 years in product development to ensure we give a perfect balance of Flavours and Sweetness to our drinks. The most important factors for a perfect drink are: a. Flavour, b. Sweetness, c. Mouthfeel and d. After Taste. The flavours should be authentic and natural, sweetness should be balanced, neither too sweet nor too less, The mouthfeel ensures right feel of sipping a smooth drink rather than a water soda based beverage and finally the aftertaste which leaves a flavour after sipping it, keeping the mouth fresh. We believe that the perfect drink is created with a careful mix of all the above factors and each one of them determines if a customer will come back for more!
